Protesters Rally in Moldova's Capital to Demand Government Defray Winter Utility Costs

Demonstrators gathered in the Moldova capital of Chisinau on Sunday, February 19, to demand support from the government to defray utility costs over the winter months.

The protest’s organizer, the Movement for the People, urged residents to participate and said the rally would be peaceful.

“The action will be a peaceful one and aims to force the Government to pay citizens in full bills for gas, electricity, and thermal power for the three months of winter,” the post added.
