Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas announce birth of their first child

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have welcomed their first baby, in a surprise announcement the actress made on social media on Friday (January 21).
The actress, 39, shared a screenshot of a digital note she wrote, which read: "We are overjoyed to confirm that we have welcomed a baby via surrogate."
The note continued: "We respectfully ask for privacy during this time as we focus on our family. Thank you so much," and tagged Nick Jonas in the caption alongside a red heart emoji.
Nick, 29, took to Instagram to share the same and also tagged Priyanka in his caption. They have been married since 2018.

In February last year, the White Tiger star revealed that she and Nick had one rule to ensure their marriage worked despite their very busy schedules.
"We see each other every three weeks," she told Elle.
"Wherever we are in the world, we fly to each other at least once a month for a couple of days. It was our rule when we first got married. Otherwise, we'd never see each other."
She also spoke about the Jonas Brothers singer proposing to her after just a few weeks of officially dating.

"I didn't expect the proposal at that point. It was two months!" she said.
"I thought it would happen but it was still a complete shock. I relinquished control and just went with it."
She continued: "We were just sporadically meeting for about two years. We were texting and stuff, and there may have been a part of me that wanted something serious."
More recently, Priyanka attracted headlines after speaking to Vanity Fair earlier this month for its February cover issue, where she said: "Children are a big part of our desire for the future [...] by God's grace, when it happens, it happens."
