Princess Beatrice’s Pregnancy Reveal Was a 'Total Dig' at Meghan And Harry
Princess Beatrice revealed that she’s expecting her first child with her casual nobleman husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and apparently everyone’s spiraling over the timing of her announcement.
You know, because it also happened to be Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s three-year wedding anniversary?
A “highly placed source” tells Page Six that the timing of Beatrice’s announcement was some sort of “dig” at the Sussexes over some past drama at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
In May, Princess Beatrice revealed that she’s expecting her first child with her casual nobleman husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and apparently everyone’s spiraling over the timing of her announcement.
You know, because it also happened to be Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s three-year wedding anniversary? Pretty sure two pieces of happy news can exist at the same time, but a “highly placed source” tells Page Six that the timing of Beatrice’s announcement was some sort of “dig” at the Sussexes over some past drama at Princess Eugenie’s wedding.
“It was a total dig at Harry and Meghan,” said highly placed source notes. “They stole Eugenie’s thunder on her big day, after all, and it appears that has not been forgotten.”
Meanwhile, another source notes that Harry and Meghan get along extremely well with Eugenie (she even lived at their home, Frogmore Cottage!) but admits the timing is weird: “Beatrice and Eugenie do really like Harry and Meghan, but Beatrice must have known what the timing would look like, surely?”
By the way, if this wedding drama is brand-new information to you, Meghan and Harry reportedly told some members of the royal family about their first pregnancy at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding. As biography Finding Freedom notes, “It did not go down particularly well with Eugenie, who, a source said, told friends she felt the couple should have waited to share the news.”
I mean…for all we know, Beatrice checked in with Meghan and Harry about the timing of her baby announcement and they had no issue with it. Just saying!!
