Price Chopper recalls pizza, party tray with Jif peanut butter

Following news of a multistate salmonella outbreak believed to be linked to some Jif peanut butter products, Price Chopper and Market 32's parent company announced the recall of an apple and cheese tray which uses the product.

A voluntary manufacturer recall of the Country Fresh 4.1-ounce Market 32 Apples, Cheese and Pretzels with Peanut Butter Tray was announced Monday by the Schenectady-based Golub Corp. due to possible contamination of the peanut butter, which is manufactured by Jif. The recall is applicable to products with the UPC number 41735 04810 and expiration dates between May 14 and June 4.

The Food and Drug Administration previously announced it was investigating an outbreak of salmonella senftenberg alongside other agencies, resulting in the J.M. Smucker Co. recalling many of its Jif peanut butter products produced at a plant in Lexington, Kentucky.

Customers can return the products to the store for a full refund, according to a news release from the Golub Corporation said. For more information, customers can call 800-666-7667 or email consumerresponse@pricechopper.com.
