Three-pointers: Florida A&M women's basketball split its last stretch of games while hosting Alabama A&M last Saturday and Alabama State on Monday. A buzzer-beater by guard Mide Oriyomi lifted the Rattlers (4-16, 2-7 SWAC) over AAMU behind her career-high 24 points. In the following game, guard Ahriahna Grizzle scored a career-high point tally with 31, but FAMU ran out of gas late against ASU. Oriyomi was named SWAC Impact Player of the Week while Grizzle got the SWAC Player of the Week nod. Texas Southern is near the bottom of the Southwestern Athletic Conference with a single win over Mississippi Valley State.

FAMU key players: Guard Dylan Horton (16.2 points per game), guard Ahriahna Grizzle (11.1 points per game), guard Mide Oriyomi (5.1 rebounds per game)

TXSU key players: Shooting guard Micah Gray (17.3 points per game), guard Andriana Avent (16.6 points per game), forward Jaida Belton (5.9 rebounds per game)

FAMU men's basketball looking to string together two consecutive wins

Three-pointers: The Rattlers (4-16, 2-7 SWAC) got another victory after defeating Alabama State on Monday. Everyone put in for that game as four players scored in double digits. Forward Jaylen Bates, and guard tandem Jordan Tillmon and Noah Meren scored 15 apiece. Guard Hantz Louis-Jeune added 14. Texas Southern (7-15, 3-6 SWAC) is the reigning SWAC champions, but struggling thus far. The Tigers was on a three-game winning streak before falling against Prairie View A&M last Saturday.

FAMU key players: Jordan Tillmon (10.9 points per game), guard Dimingus Stevens (9.3 points per game), forward Jaylen Bates (7.1 rebounds per game)

TXSU key players: Forward Davon Barnes (15.9 points per game), forward John Walker III (12.4 points per game), forward Joirdon Karl Nicholas (8.5 rebounds per game)
