Wooster's swimming and diving teams got off to a good start, with the Generals' boys finishing first and the girls placing second against Firestone, GlenOak and Perry to open the season.

Wooster narrowly beat out second-place Firestone 176-162 on the boys side and Firestone prevailed 195-157 in girls competition.

The 200 freestyle team of Aiden Strand-Fox, Andrei Dordea, John Sibilia and Andrew Glasgow earned one of Wooster's first-place finishes, crossing nearly three seconds before Firestone's second-place team. Steven Fox also finished first in the 1m dive.

The Generals boys also placed second or third 12 times throughout the meet.

On the girls side, Gracie Chelf was dominant, winning the 50 freestyle by more than a second with a 24.39 time and winning the 100 freestyle by nearly three seconds with a 53.47.

Brooke Balas also placed first in the 1m dive to lead Wooster's charge.
