Prep roundup: Faith Shaw scores twice to lead Lewis and Clark girls soccer over Coeur d'Alene

Sep. 25—Roundup of Saturday's high school sports action from the Greater Spokane League and across Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

Girls soccer

Lewis and Clark 4, Coeur d'Alene 0: Faith Shaw scored two goals with one assist and the Tigers (8-1) tamed the visiting Vikings (3-7-1) in a nonleague game at Hart Field.

Laila Kaiel and Keegan Tee added goals for LC, while Shelby Dirks made a pair of saves for LC.

Cheney 13, Rogers 0: Alex Miller scored three goals and the Blackhawks (4-4) blanked the visiting Pirates (1-7) in a nonleague game.

Katie Low, Allie Deutsch and Ellerie O'Regan added two goals apiece for Cheney.

Lakeside 2, East Valley 1: Lainee Higgens scored the go-ahead goal in the 63rd minute and the Eagles (5-1) beat the visiting Knights (1-5) in a nonleague game.

Kaylyn Randazzo made eight saves for Lakeside. Cadence Meier-Grolman scored in the 58th minute for EV.

Clarkston 1, Moscow 1: Sienna Newhouse scored the equalizer on a penalty kick in the 64th minute and the visiting Bantams (2-1-2) tied the Bears (7-4-1) in a nonleague game.

Jessika Lassen scored a first-half goal off a free kick for Moscow.

Northwest Christian 4, Colville 0: Semira Krauss scored the opening goal and the Crusaders (3-3) beat the visiting Crimson Hawks (3-3) in a nonleague game. Addy Fazio had two assists for the Crusaders.

St. George's 7, Timberlake 1: Carsyn Gildehaus scored four goals and the Dragons (3-1) beat the visiting Tigers (4-4) in a nonleague game.

Cross country

Can-Am Invitational: At Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area. Barrett Poulson (Freeman) won the boys race in 16 minutes, 39 seconds, and Annastasia Peters (Post Falls) won the girls race in 18:04.

The Lakeside boys took first with 28 points, followed by Shadle Park (96) and Ferris (100). Post Falls won the girls race with 29 points, followed by Lakeside (45) and Colville (103).

Volleyball

Chewelah 3, Riverside 0: Bailey Fuller had 15 assists with five aces and the visiting Cougars (3-3) beat the Rams (2-5) 25-15, 25-16, 25-21 in a nonleague match. Brooke Bennett added seven kills for Chewelah. Emma Oergel led Riverside with 11 assists with two aces.

St. George's 3, Newport 0: The visiting Dragons (3-2) swept the Grizzlies (0-8) 25-15, 25-15, 25-15 in a nonleague match.

Springdale 3, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 0: Audrey Wellhausen and Kaylin Gines had 12 kills apiece and the visiting Chargers (5-1, 4-0) swept the Warriors (1-4, 1-2) 25-22, 25-23, 26-24 in a Northeast 1B match. Natalie Evers had 12 kills and eight blocks for ACH.

Northport 3, Columbia (Hunters) 0: McKenzie Malcolm had 15 aces and the Mustangs (5-5, 3-1) swept the visiting Lions (0-3, 0-3) in a Northeast 1B match.

Curlew 3, Cusick 0: Macey Singer had eight kills and five aces and the Cougars (4-1, 2-1) beat the visiting Panthers (1-1, 0-1) 25-12, 25-10, 25-17 in a Northeast 1B match.

Curlew 3, Selkirk 0: Macey Singer had 11 kills and the Cougars (3-1, 1-1) beat the visiting Rangers (0-5, 0-2) 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 in a Northeast 1B match.

Selkirk 3, Republic 2: Lindsey Short had 20 kills, five aces and 10 blocks but the Tigers (1-2, 0-2) lost to the visiting Rangers (1-5, 1-2) 17-25, 25-21, 8-25, 25-23, 15-11 in a Northeast 1B match.

Republic 3, Cusick 2: Lindsey Short had nine kills and one block and the Tigers (2-2, 1-2) beat the visiting Panthers (1-2, 0-2) 25-6, 25-7, 25-23 in a Northeast 1B match.

Odessa 3, Chesterton Academy 0: Hayden Schuh had seven kills and the Tigers (6-1, 4-0) beat visiting Chesterton Academy (0-4,0-1) 25-0, 25-9, 25-11 in a Northeast 1B League match.

Odessa 3, Valley Christian 2: Hayden Schuh had 14 kills with 16 digs and three blocks and the Tigers (5-1, 3-0) beat the Panthers (0-4, 0-1) in five sets in a Northeast 1B match. Autumn Keyannie had 24 assists for VC.
