SAND HILLS — Joe Carpenter just missed out on breaking his own single-game scoring record on Thursday night against Ponce de Leon, but Bozeman (18-2) did break a team record with its 97-56 victory over the Pirates.

The 18th win of the season is the most that a Bozeman team has ever notched in a regular season, and it was thanks largely to Carpenter's 41 points, just two off of his career-high and school-record 43 that he scored earlier this season.

Carpenter scored 28 of his 41 points in a dominant first half that left the Bucks leading 47-26. He finished the game with 15 made field goals and went 9 of 11 from the free throw line. Lewis Lowder tripled four times and scored 16 points of his own, while Blake Fountain added 15 points, and Noa McClelland 12 points. Dawson Eaton also scored nine points.
