Prep Gymnastics: New London-Spicer puts up a big score in victory

Dec. 8—NEW LONDON — The New London-Spicer gymnastics team beat Litchfield in a dual meet Tuesday, 141.150 to 128.300.

Ciera Anderson won the all-around scoring with 36.5 points for the Wildcats. Teammate Kamryn Quenemoen had 34.3 and Litchfield's Olivia Holmgren scored 33.1

"Ciera had a great night tonight; all the girls are really stepping up and doing a wonderful job," NLS head coach Cindy Jacobson said. "I have a lot of depth on this team and we always have about seven girls that can fill out our five-person varsity roster."

Anderson won the vault (9.35), uneven parallel bars (8.975) and the balance beam (9.2). NLS' Kaitlyn Prehim won the floor exercise with a 9.275 to beat Anderson and Quenemoen, who each scored 9.075.

"We are looking forward to competing on Thursday at our quad meet," Jacobson said. "NLS will have two teams competing along with Worthington and Alexandria, which are two very good teams. It will be nice to see the girls go head-to-head with the same judges."

NLs is host to a triangular at 6 p.m. Friday. Alexandria and Worthington also compete.
