Prep Football Roundup for Week 5

Sep. 18—SILVER BLUFF 43, MIDLAND VALLEY 0

Silver Bluff recorded its third consecutive shutout to open the season, beating Midland Valley 43-0. The Bulldogs (3-0) have outscored their opponents 124-0 so far this season.

Up next for Silver Bluff is a home game next Friday against Aiken. Midland Valley (0-3) is scheduled to host Barnwell.

BLACKVILLE-HILDA 14, WILLISTON-ELKO 0

Defending Region 3-A champion Blackville-Hilda opened league play with a shutout victory over Williston-Elko.

Blackville-Hilda (2-0, 1-0) will host Ridge Spring-Monetta next week. Williston-Elko (0-2, 0-1) visits Hunter-Kinard-Tyler.

BURKE COUNTY 33, NORTH AUGUSTA 27 (OT)

North Augusta staged a furious rally to force overtime but couldn't come away with the victory against Burke County.

The Yellow Jackets (2-3) trailed 27-13, but Colson Brown and Xavier Davis connected for two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Brown passed for three touchdowns in the game, and Drew Stevens made field goals of 43 and 50 yards.

Next up for North Augusta is a home game next Friday against Laurens.

SOUTH AIKEN 13, WHITE KNOLL 7

South Aiken scored the go-ahead touchdown to cap a nearly 8-minute drive to start the second half and held White Knoll scoreless the rest of the way.

The T-Breds (1-1) next play Swansea at home next Friday.

BARNWELL 48, NORTH CENTRAL 28

Barnwell took an early double-digit lead and cruised to a win over North Central.

The Warhorses (3-1) visit Midland Valley next week.
