Prep Basketball: Lac qui Parle Valley teams split games, Sisseton girls fall in opener

MADISON, Minn. — Jackson Loge scored 19 points and Thomas Tiernan 18 to lead Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta to a 60-37 season-opening Minnesota high school boys basketball win over Lac qui Parle Valley on Thursday.

Kaiden Allpress tallied 15 points and Hunter Conn 13 for LqPV.

Girls Basketball

Wheaton-Herman-Norcross 54, Sisseton 39

SISSETON — Sisseton dropped its season-opening high school girls basketball game to Wheaton-Herman-Norcross on Thursday.

Hannah Leverson produced 18 points to lead the Redmen. Emmalee Nielsen added eight points and five steals, Krista Langager four rebounds and Hailey Nelson five rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Ellisa Rinke had 16 points and Brylie Schultz 14 points and 11 rebounds for WHN.

LqPV 67, Ortonville 17

ORTONVILLE, Minn. — Camryn Lee’s 25 points and seven rebounds and Taylor Shelstad’s 13 points, seven assists and seven steals sparked Lac qui Parle Valley to the Minnesota high school girls basketball win on Thursday.

Isabel Gerdes added 12 points for the Eagles (2-0).

Kadyn Gronholz scored seven points for Ortonville (0-2).
