Prep Baseball Roundup: ACGC, Kingery shut out Litchfield

May 11—LITCHFIELD — Starting with a leadoff home run and ending with eight strikeouts over 5-2/3 innings on the mound, Josh Kingery paced the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City baseball team in a 5-0 non-conference win over Litchfield on Monday at Optimist Park.

The win was the Falcons' fifth straight. The Dragons saw a five-game win streak come to an end.

Kingery finished 2-for-4 with two runs and a pair of stolen bases. On the mound, he gave up two hits and no walks.

Jaxon Behm and Zach Bagley were both 1-for-4 with an RBI for ACGC. Jack Peterson was 1-for-4 with a run scored . He also tossed 1-1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

Christian Kelsey had two of Litchfield's four hits, with Jud Dollerschell and Ben Alsleben also getting base knocks. Riley Taber took the loss following three innings of work.

The Falcons (9-1) will host Eden Valley-Watkins in a Central Minnesota Conference game Tuesday. The Dragons (10-4) are back at home Tuesday to play Wright County Conference foe Annandale.

Yellow Medicine East won its ninth straight game following a shutout over Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian in non-conference play at Richter Field in Granite Falls.

During the win streak, the Sting have outscored their opponents 76-12.

Cole Fischer hit a solo home run to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning for YME, finishing 2-for-2. Cody Dahlager went 1-for-3 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base. Bryce Sneller was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Hunter Wilke got the win for the Sting after striking out nine in five innings.

YME (10-2) will host MACCRAY for a Camden Conference game Tuesday.
