Possible snowfall may be coming to Delaware Wednesday. Here's what you need to know

As temperatures begin to drop, Delaware may see its first sustained snowfall of the season early Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Beginning late Tuesday night, there is a 30% chance of rain and snow in northern Delaware with estimates increasing mainly after 1 a.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy with a low of around 30 degrees.

On Wednesday morning, there's a chance of snow and sleet before 10 a.m. Estimates are still preliminary and subject to change, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Brian Haines.

"There's still a lot of uncertainty here," Haines said. "Snow is possible Wednesday, but stay vigilant as this will likely change multiple times between now and Wednesday."

Wednesday's weather will then likely give way to rain until around 10 p.m. when snow is predicted. Wednesday night will be mostly cloudy with a low of about 27 degrees and a 30% chance of precipitation.
