A Port Hueneme woman died Sunday after falling at the Todd Road jail facility, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said Monday.

The incident occurred at 10:18 a.m. inside the jail at 600 Todd Road, just outside Santa Paula city limits.

Capt. Cameron Henderson said the woman, identified as Rose Mae Denley, 50, had been arrested on Thursday by the Port Hueneme Police Department for an outstanding felony warrant.

Denley, who also appeared under the aliases "Rosemary" and "Rose Marie" in Ventura County jail and court records, was in a common area of the jail when she fell down. A deputy and jail nurse in the room reported her to be unresponsive after the fall. She was treated by paramedics at the jail until she was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, authorities said.

The death is under investigation by the Major Crimes Bureau of the Sheriff's Office, which investigates all inmate deaths at Ventura County jails as a matter of policy. An autopsy remains pending by the Ventura County Medical Examiner's Office.

Denley is the third inmate to die at a Ventura County jail facility this year. Joshua Louis Johnston, 46, of Ventura, died after suffering an apparent medical condition on July 3, while Seth Paul Dees, 43, of Camarillo, died in his cell on May 18.
