Pop Idol's Darius Danesh dies aged 41

Pop Idol's Darius Campbell Danesh has sadly died at the age of 41, it has been confirmed.
The singer came third on the first series of the original ITV talent show, behind winner Will Young and runner-up Gareth Gates. He released chart-topping single Colourblind and two albums, before making a successful transition to West End leading man, starring in shows like Chicago, Guys and Dolls, Funny Girl and Gone with the Wind.
He returned to TV for ITV's Popstar to Operastar in 2010, and won the series.

BBC News reports that Danesh was found in his apartment in Rochester, Minnesota, with a statement from his family explaining that the death was sudden, but not being treated as suspicious.
Their statement reads: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh. Darius was found unresponsive in bed in his apartment room in Rochester, Minnesota, on August 11 and was pronounced dead in the afternoon by the local medical examiners' office.
"The local police department have confirmed that there were no signs of intent or suspicious circumstances. The cause of his sudden death is unknown at this stage while medical examinations continue.
"We ask that you kindly respect our wishes for privacy at this time whilst we come to terms with the tragic loss of our son and brother."
Many famous faces paid tribute to the performer on social media, with Pop Idol judge Nicki Chapman writing: "There will only ever be one Darius Campbell Danesh. A true gent with a kind soul & mischievous tinkle in his eye.
"From that eventful first audition on [Pop Idol] to him kindly inviting me to see him perform on the West End stage. Thoughts are with his family at this sad time."
Michelle Heaton from Liberty X, who were formed on spin-off Popstars, referenced his legendary '... Baby, One More Time' audition. She wrote: "So sad … thoughts with Darius family right now x always our Britney."
"Tragic news," wrote veteran BBC music correspondent Mark Savage. "Darius turned that memorable Pop Idol audition into a proper career, with roles on the West End and a sideline as a Hollywood film producer. Very sad."
Actor Sanjeev Bhaskar tweeted: "Sad news of Darius’ shockingly untimely passing. He was a guest on The Kumars and couldn’t have been a nicer, warmer guest with a great sense of self deprecation."
Comedian Shaparak Khorsandi added: "DARIUS! Oh lord how sad! I loved him...I ADORED that he was half Iranian, made me proud. God life is unfathomable. So bloody sad."
"Proper sad about Darius," added Rylan, who himself found fame through a TV singing competition.
