The Webber International women's basketball team rolled over Florida National University 101-56 on Nov. 22 at home to remain perfect through six games.

Senior guard Amaya Small scored a game-high 18 points and brought down six rebounds. Graduate guard Deja King put up 15 points, six rebounds and three assists. And freshman guard Jaida Burgess tallied 14 points, six assists and six rebounds. Junior point guard Alexandria Lemmon had nine points, three assists and three rebounds.

The Warriors shot 46.7% from the field and grabbed 54 rebounds to Florida National's 29 on the way to breaking the 100-point mark for the first time this season.

Webber's only loss this year was an 83-59 exhibition loss against the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, an NCAA Division I school.

The Warriors (6-0, 2-0) will play No. 5 Southeastern on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at home.

Southeastern wins 7 of 8

An 81-76 victory over the Bemidji State University Beavers improved the Southeastern Fire to 7-1 on the year.

The women's basketball program finished the SEU Thanksgiving Classic strong on Saturday thanks to graduate center Angela Perry, who scored a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds. Graduate point guard Tahanee Bennell had 15 points and five rebounds.

While Southeastern (7-1, 3-0) started out fast and led the entire first quarter, the Beavers took a lead in the second quarter. Still, the Fire pulled away thanks to a 3-pointer by graduate guard Marta Aranda, who put her team up by 10 in the third quarter. Aranda finished with seven points and four rebounds in the contest.

Florida Southern College falls short in thriller

The Florida Southern Moccasins dropped to 1-4 on the season after losing by 75-74 to No. 8 Gannon University on Saturday at home.

Freshman guard Sara Wohlgemuth contributed a career-high 17 points for Florida Southern. Freshman forward Whitney Jacob also put up 17 points with three rebounds, and graduate guard Julia Jenike had 12 points and two rebounds.

In the fourth quarter, Wohlgemuth was fouled in the paint and hit two free throws to close with 3 points of Gannon at at 67-64. And a few plays later, Jenike was fouled and hit two free throws to close the score to 68-67.

But Gannon freshman Samantha Pirosko, who scored a game-high 27 points and had four rebounds, hit 8-of-8 free throws for Gannon.

Florida Southern (1-4, 0-1) will play Florida Tech in a Sunshine State Conference game on the road Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Warner University drops second conference game

Warner has lost three of its last four and dropped to 1-4 following a 74-62 loss to Thomas University on the road Nov. 20.

It was the Royals' second conference loss of the year.

Freshman forward Jasmine Edwards produced a double-double, 20 points and 14 rebounds. Freshman forward Chanelle McDonald also scored 20 points, while also adding a block and five rebounds.

Warner (1-4, 0-2) will take on Keiser University, Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at home.
