Police: One dead, three injured after crash on I-71 in Warren County

One person is dead and three others injured after a crash Saturday on Interstate 71 in Warren County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 1 a.m. on the southbound lanes at mile post 29 in Union Township.

Investigators said a semi was headed south on I-71 and crashed into a van that was going at a slow speed.

A passenger in the van was thrown out of the vehicle and onto the ground. That passenger was then hit by another car driving down the interstate, according to troopers.

The vehicle that struck the ejected passenger did not stop and has not been identified, investigators said.

The individual ejected from the van was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The driver of the van and the other two passengers were taken to Bethesda North Hospital. The driver of the semi was not transported.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lebanon post of the Highway Patrol.
