Man, two juveniles arrested in connection with homicide at south Charlotte motel, CMPD says

One man and two juveniles have been arrested in connection with a homicide that occurred at a motel in south Charlotte.

On Nov. 22, shortly before 12:30 p.m., the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it responded to a call about shots being fired on the 4400 block of South Tryon Street.

At the scene, police said they found 29-year-old Sharod Marquis Armstrong with a gunshot wound.

Armstrong was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

Police said following an investigation, two male juveniles were charged with 1st-degree murder in connection with this case. Kelvin Rodriquez Johnson, 41, has also been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and accessory after the fact of murder.

On Nov. 23, Johnson and the two juveniles were arrested in Anderson, South Carolina. They are awaiting extradition to Mecklenburg County, according to police.
