Jamestown man charged with murder in connection to Xenia bar shooting

A Jamestown man is facing charges after a man was shot and later died outside of a bar in Xenia Thursday morning.

Police responded to reports of a disturbance outside of The Roundtable Bar on Home Avenue in Xenia and found Jacob S. Scoby, 30, suffering from a gunshot wound in the parking lot, according to Xenia Police.

Scoby was transported to Greene Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries, police said.

Brad Stewart, 32, of Jamestown was identified as the suspect but was at large after the shooting took place.

Stewart was located Thursday on Clifton Road around 10:38 a.m. by Greene County deputies, Greene County ACE Task Force, and Xenia officers. After a brief chase he was stopped in a car and taken into custody in the 2500 block of Wilberforce Clifton Road, Captain Steve Lane with Xenia Police Divison said.

Stewart is facing charges of murder, felonious assault, and having weapons under a disability as a convicted felon, according to court records.
