Off-duty police officers suffer broken eye socket and dislocated shoulder after trying to break up pub brawl
An off-duty police officer suffered a broken eye socket and another a dislocated shoulder after they tried to break up a fight in a pub.
Police have released CCTV footage of three suspects after the two off-duty officers were assaulted in a pub in central London.
The officers were in the Maple Leaf pub in Covent Garden before Christmas when the incident happened.
At about 7.10pm on 20 December, a fight broke out between two groups of men, the Metropolitan Police said.
The officers tried to break up the fight and while doing so were punched by the three men.
Both officers suffered injuries and were taken to hospital. One suffered a dislocated shoulder and the other a broken eye socket, the police said.

The three suspects fled the scene.
Police have released CCTV footage of the suspects and want anyone with information to come forward.

Detective constable Karl Lewis, from Central West CID, said: “These officers were enjoying an evening out when they witnessed a fight which they tried to prevent becoming more serious.
“In doing so, they themselves were set upon and injured, leaving them with significant injuries.”
