Giants update: The Diamondbacks just saw the Giants last weekend at Chase Field, where the Giants took two of three. The Giants were eight games under .500 on Sept. 9 but had won 12 of 17 entering their Thursday night series finale with the Colorado Rockies. 3B J.D. Davis has been their best hitter in recent weeks, going 18 for 58 (.310) with six doubles, three homers and 10 walks in his past 22 games. OF Joc Pederson is hitting .321/.391/.571 with three homers in his past 56 at-bats. LHP Carlos Rodon has been throwing well, with a 2.61 ERA and 36 strikeouts in his past 20 2/3 innings. RHP Tyler Rogers has not allowed a run this month, turning in nine scoreless appearances spanning 14 1/3 innings. If the Giants can win five of their final seven games, they would finish with a winning record in back-to-back years for the first time since 2015-2016.
