Pine Forest basketball's Kameron Pearson named 910Preps Athlete of the Week

Pine Forest girls basketball's Kameron Pearson is the latest 910Preps Athlete of the Week.

In the opening week of the 2022-23 season, Pearson had 18 points, six rebounds and six steals in a win against Gray’s Creek. The senior had 11 points and four steals in a loss against Hoggard.

In the latest 910Preps Athlete of the Week poll, Pearson picked up 2,928 votes to take top honors. Seventy-First's Raymond McCray (1,094 votes) finished second, followed by Terry Sanford's Breonna Roaf (940).

Here’s a look at the other finalists for the week of Nov. 21-26, 2022.

Xavier Johnson, Fayetteville Academy: The junior guard averaged 26 points and 3.5 rebounds in two games at the Hoops and Dreams Showcase. He had 33 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win against Terry Sanford.

Raymond McCray, Seventy-First: The senior linebacker had 16 tackles, including five for loss, in a 38-13 win against Terry Sanford in the fourth round of the NCHSAA football playoffs.

'BIG FOUR':Cape Fear girls basketball enters championship chat with win against Terry Sanford

Breonna Roaf, Terry Sanford: The sophomore guard averaged 20.5 points, 8.0 assists, 7.0 rebounds and 7.0 steals in wins over South View and St. Pauls. She had 24 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and eight steals against the Tigers.

Ari Fulton, Westover: The junior wing had 15 points and eight rebounds in a win at South View. He added 16 points and eight rebounds in a win against Northwood Temple at the Hoops and Dreams Showcase.
