New Philadelphia police help woman after wheelchair breaks down near mall

NEW PHILADELPHIA ‒ Three police officers and a pet store helped get a woman moving again after her electric wheelchair broke down Sunday.

The woman called police at 4:40 p.m. to say that she was stuck on Mill Avenue and Graff Road SE near New Towne Mall.

Police arrived eight minutes later. Officers Bradley Geist and Melissa Snyder and Sgt. David Morris helped her get to We Lov Pets at 331 Graff Road, where she was permitted to plug her electric wheelchair into an outlet.

Officers left the scene at 5:02 p.m.
