Four-time major champion Rory McIlroy will take a one-stroke lead into Friday's second round of the 104th PGA Championship.

Playing in a group with Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth, McIlroy shot a 5-under-par 65 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Will Zalatoris and Tom Hoge sit one shot back.

Woods, seemingly favoring his injured right leg, bogeyed six of his final 10 holes to finish at 4-over. Among the other pre-tournament favorites, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler shot a 1-over 71, No. 2 Jon Rahm begins the day 3-over and No. 3 Collin Morikawa is at 2-over.
