Perry ProTech to relocate to industrial park

Apr. 13—LIMA — Ground was broken Tuesday for a new facility for Perry proTECH.

The 50,000-square foot facility will be located on 15.5 acres on Commerce Parkway, which is in the City of Lima and Perry Township.

"It's a big enough property that we can build a big enough facility to house all our Lima employees under one roof," CEO Barry Clark said.

Perry proTECH currently employs 78 people. Clark is excited about the new location.

"Look at the location; we're right on I-75. What better advertising than all that traffic that's going to go by our new building," Clark said.

Perry proTECH has been a part of Lima since 1965 and will remain so in the new location.

"The increase in property tax will support Perry Local Schools, and the township and the income tax will continue to go to the city. Mutually supporting all entities is important to the company," Clark said.

The current facility at 545 W. Market St., Lima, will be sold.

"There's already people looking at it potentially to buy it," Clark said.

Perry proTECH provides a variety of tech services to clients throughout Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.

"We were founded as an imaging company, copying printing services, supplies support. And really over the past 15 years, we've really moved into being more of an overall IT company," said Pat Summers, president of Perry proTECH. "So anything from managed network services, to cybersecurity, to physical security, through cameras and door access to any kind of integration relating to technologies, whether it's printing, IT, software, really anything that a company would ever need to run their business is something that we are involved in.

"So people who would know Perry proTECH back from the 70s and 80s might still think of us as copiers. You know, we are still really really big in that world, but we have a really big footprint as a relates to technology,"

Completion of the new building is expected by the summer of 2022.

"We are excited Perry proTECH was able to find a great location for its new headquarters," said Dave Stratton, president and CEO of Allen Economic Development Group. "A large part of AEDG's mission is to work with existing companies to help them meet their current and future needs. This modern facility along I-75 will be ideal for Perry proTECH well into the future."
