Penn State vs. Purdue basketball: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Wednesday

Penn State men’s basketball has had some struggles in Big Ten play away from the comforts of the Bryce Jordan Center, and on Wednesday the Nittany Lions will face their stiffest road test of the season. Penn State visits no. 1 Purdue on Wednesday evening for the second regular-season meeting between the two schools this season.

Purdue has lost just one game this season, a road game at Rutgers, and the Boilermakers took the first matchup with the Nittany Lions in January. Purdue dug out of a first-half hole at the Palestra in Philadelphia to come back and top Penn State.

Here is how to catch all of the Big Ten basketball action on Wednesday evening.

It should come as no surprise that Purdue, the nation’s top-ranked team playing at home, is the favorite against the Nittany Lions. Purdue is a double-digit favorite on their home court on Wednesday evening as Penn State pays a visit, and the Boilermakers have already toppled Penn State on the court this season with their victory over the Nittany Lions in the Palestra in Philadelphia last month.

The ESPN Basketball Power Index really likes Purdue’s chances to improve to 22-1 this season. According to the latest ESPN BPI model, Purdue has an 86.6% chance of winning against Penn State, leaving just 13.4% chance for a Penn State victory.

Penn State held its own against Purdue in the first matchup and even led the Boilermakers at halftime of their previous meeting, but Purdue went to work in the second half and showed why they are one fo the best teams in the country. Can Penn State hang with Purdue on the road and give the no. 1 team a better second-half test?

Other Big Ten games on the schedule

There is just one other Big Ten contest going on Wednesday night, with Rutgers hosting Minnesota. Rutgers is the only team this season to hand Purdue a loss. Their home game against Minnesota should help keep the Scarlet Knights in the top half of the Big Ten standings.
