The dust has barely settled on the signing of the Class of 2023 in State College, but Penn State is already hard at work putting together its next recruiting class for 2024. With a couple of commits on board now, there is still a long way to go in the next recruiting cycle, which is now officially underway, but one recruiting target has listed the Nittany Lions in his latest recruiting update as a top school.

Kari Jackson, a four-star linebacker out of Michigan, posted an update on his recruiting status with a list of top seven schools he is currently evaluating in his recruiting process. Among the top seven schools named by Jackson was Penn State. Penn State was one of three Big Ten schools in Jackson’s top seven, with Maryland and Wisconsin also being included in the mix.

Other schools in Jackson’s top seven include Stanford from the Pac-12, Missouri in the SEC, and the Big 12’s newest additions, Cincinnati and UCF. UCF is one of the most recent offers to land in Jackson’s lap, and Stanford and Missouri each extended offers in January.

Jackson is rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports’ composite ranking and Rivals, and On3 rates him as a three-star player.

Penn State has had Jackson on its recruiting radar for a while. The Nittany Lions extended an offer to Jackson back in May 2021. Penn State is reportedly one of Jackson’s most recent schools visited as well.

According to 247Sports, Jackson intends to announce his college decision before he begins his senior season, so Penn State could potentially be adding a four-star linebacker to its Class of 2024 before kicking off the new college football season this fall. But, of course, there is still a good amount of work that needs to be done to secure the commitment.
