'Peaky Blinders' creator says a Shelby family movie is a 'strong possibility'
The creator of Peaky Blinders has said that a movie around the Shelby family is 'a strong possibility'.
Steven Knight has said that he plans to continue making the series 'until the first air raid siren of the Second World War'.
“Then it will be a true story of a family between the wars. That will involve season 6 and season 7,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

“I’m pretty close to completing season 6 in terms of scripts, and then we’ll shoot that, and then I will embark on season 7.
“And then, if the energy is still continuing to grow, and the feeling around the world is still so positive, then we’ll think about how the story can continue in other forms.”
Asked if that means a movie about the Shelbys, he added: “I’m ruling nothing out, and a film is certainly a strong possibility.”

The fifth series of the Birmingham-based crime drama wound up last month on the BBC, and premieres on Netflix today.
It found Cillian Murphy's former gang leader Tommy Shelby ascending to national politics at the beginning of the 1930s, encountering British Union of Fascists leader Oswald Mosley, played by Hunger Games star Sam Claflin.
Knight added that the most recent season is 'the best we've done so far'.
