Parral Village Council

May 9 meeting

KEY ACTION Reviewed estimates for maintenance of storm drains.

DISCUSSION Two estimates from Bridges Excavating were reviewed for maintenance of storm drains in the village.

The first was in the amount of $3,385 for a drain at 1928 South St. and the second was in the amount of $3,740 for a drain at 1967 Sunnyside Lane.

Council agreed that this work should be done, but was unsure if this maintenance is the responsibility of the village,or the landowners. Councilman Travis Roth said that he would like to check these locations, to make certain that there is not just a clogging issue, before taking further action.

In other discussion, the need for topsoil along streets and alleys was considered by council. The suggestion of getting a load of topsoil for residents’ use was considered, and the different qualities of topsoils discussed. Council agreed to purchase a load of topsoil, to be stored and utilized by residents. Roth to coordinate the purchase.
