Paris Jackson is following in her famous father's footsteps.

The 22-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson released her first solo single, "Let Down," Friday from her upcoming debut album "Wilted," out Nov. 13.

But unlike the pop icon, Jackson describes her acoustic sound as alternative folk.

"Let Down," a song that Jackson wrote in her bedroom with only her guitar, tells the story of a breakup that was inspired by her own personal life.

Jackson formed "The Soundflowers" with musician boyfriend Gabriel Glenn in 2018. They split in August.

“You were my all, and now I fall to the ground," she sings.

Her new single was accompanied by a music video filled with horror and gore appropriate for Halloween season. For example, her character's heart is ripped out of her chest by her lover.

Jackson admitted that she felt "so many emotions" ahead of the song's release.

"I’m excited, I’m nervous, mostly grateful and happy," Jackson said in a statement. "The freedom to create, not being told what to sing and how to sing it, what to write; it’s awesome. It’s a gift, it’s a blessing.”

Michael Jackson famously attempted to shield his three young children from the spotlight. After his death in 2009 of an overdose of the anesthetic propofol, Paris and her two brothers — who go by Prince, 23, and Bigi, 18 — went to live with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson. Paris moved out at 18 and has been modeling and acting, but always played music.

In June, she and Glenn had a docu-series on Facebook Watch called “Unfiltered,” which provided a glimpse into her private life and the duo’s small acoustic tour. Jackson revealed self-harm and suicide attempts in her testimonials, and said music was a way to channel her pain.
