Panthers' Greg Olsen, recovering Matt Millen will be in Fox broadcast booth this season

Fox revealed its broadcasting teams for the regular season on Tuesday, and while many of the pairings are familiar, there will be some interesting guest appearances.

Greg Olsen will be busy during bye week

While many of his Carolina Panthers teammates spend their Week 7 bye this season on vacation or catching up with friends and family, tight end Greg Olsen will be continuing to lay the groundwork for his post-playing career.

Olsen will be in the booth for Fox’s October 20 broadcast of the Arizona Cardinals-New York Giants game, paired with veteran play-by-play announcer Kenny Albert.

Ronde Barber is usually Albert’s partner in the booth.

Olsen, a three-time Pro Bowler who is beginning his 13th NFL season, has been part of NFL Network’s team at the scouting combine in recent years, earning plaudits for his analysis.

Matt Millen returns

A week after Olsen’s appearance, Matt Millen will return to the broadcast booth.

Millen received a lifesaving heart transplant on Christmas Eve last year, spending three months in a Newark, N.J. waiting for a donor match. He had a rare condition called amyloidosis, which produces clumps of protein that were attacking the lining of his heart.

While it can be fatal within a matter of months for many who have it, Millen lived with amyloidosis for over two years before his transplant.

Millen will be paired with play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler for the Week 8 Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Tennessee Titans game.
