Packers backup QB Jordan Love hits Christian Watson for 63-yard TD vs. Eagles

Four plays after taking over for Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers backup quarterback Jordan Love hit rookie Christian Watson for a 63-yard touchdown pass that cut the Philadelphia Eagles’ lead to 37-30 in the fourth quarter.

Rodgers left the contest with an oblique injury.

On his first series, Love hit Allen Lazard for a 7-yard completion to convert on 3rd-and-5 and then fired a completion off play-action to Watson cutting across the field, and the speedy rookie to it to the house for a game-changing score.

Not a bad start. Three completions, 75 yards, one touchdown and a perfect 158.3 passer rating.

Not a bad run from Watson, either. He has six touchdowns in his last three games. His speed is killing defenses.

Here’s the touchdown:

A beautiful play. Love came up off the play-action, fired into the middle of the field and let Watson do the rest.

Love was the Packers’ first-round pick in 2020. Rodgers’ future in Green Bay is uncertain, so the Love-to-Watson touchdown on Sunday night could be a look into the future for the Packers.
