The Owen Valley girls' tennis team competed in sectional action last week, ending their team season in the sectional final.
The Lady Patriots took on South Vermillion in the opening round of the sectional, winning 5-0.
"We played really well. We dominated that match from the start to the finish," OV head coach Marc Johnson said.
That win propelled the Lady Patriots to the sectional final where they fell to Greencastle, 2-3.
"We won at number one doubles and number two singles," Coach Johnson explained. "Ines (Hidalgo Munoz) played a hard-fought match for almost 2 1/2 hours and got the win. Our number one doubles team of Bre Davis and Grace Coryea won their match and they advance to regionals where they will play Northview on Tuesday! Everyone played really well on Friday. Everyone battled really hard. I was extremely proud of the girls. We had a fantastic season and we were 9-6 on the year."
