Oregon women's basketball among top 16 seed in early NCAA Tournament bracket

On Thursday, the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament selection committee released their top 16 teams in the country.

The Oregon Ducks came in at No. 14 and were a No. 4 seed in the Wichita Regional in the seeding.

The Ducks are 12-5 on the season and 4-1 in Pac-12 play and are currently on a five-game winning streak, including wins over top-10 teams Arizona and UConn. Oregon is also currently ranked No. 19 in the AP Poll and sits at No. 12 in the NET computer rankings as of Thursday afternoon.

The Ducks are one of five teams nationally with multiple wins over current top 10 teams and one of six with at least three victories over top-20 teams after beating Oklahoma earlier in the year.

Since getting its big three back in Te-Hina Paopao, Endyia Rogers and Nyara Sabally, the Ducks are 6-1 as the trio has averaged 48.2 points per game during Pac-12 play.

South Carolina is the committee's No. 1 overall seed, followed by Stanford, NC State, and Tennessee, who's the top seed in the Wichita Regional.

The NCAA Selection Committee will release its top 16 seeds two more times (Feb. 10 and 28) ahead of the selection show on March 13.
