Oregon Ducks Player of the Game: Safety Bennett Williams

For most of Saturday evening’s contest between the Oregon Ducks and Arizona Wildcats, it was tough to pick out a player worthy of being named Oregon’s player of the game.

Early in the fourth quarter it was just a one-possession game, and the fans were getting a little restless at Autzen Stadium.

However, just a few minutes later, safety Bennett Williams not only secured his second interception of the game, but he took it 68 yards past Arizona’s entire offense to score a touchdown and give the Ducks an insurmountable 41-19 lead, which would become the final score.

It also made the choice of player of the game much more obvious, although really anyone in Oregon’s secondary could have come down with this honor.

Saturday’s interceptions were the second and third of Williams’ Oregon career. He had three his freshman season at Illinois back in 2017.

Oregon moves to 4-0 on the season and is set to prepare for a matchup against Stanford (2-2) next Saturday.
