Ole Miss baseball vs. Oklahoma in College World Series Saturday: Live score updates

OMAHA, Neb. - Ole Miss baseball and Oklahoma begin their battle for college baseball's highest honor in the College World Series championship round on Saturday.

The Rebels (40-23) and Sooners (45-22) face off from Charles Schwab Field in Omaha on Saturday (6 p.m., ESPN) in the first game of a best-of-three series to score a national championship. Oklahoma has two championships, most recently in 1994, and Ole Miss has never won a title.

Both the Rebels and Sooners have streaked to this point with strong Mays and Junes. Ole Miss is 8-1 in the postseason and has won 16 of its last 20 games since May 1. The Sooners won their last five Big 12 series, swept the Big 12 Tournament and are 8-2 in the NCAA Tournament including a perfect 3-0 in Omaha.

Oklahoma will start left-hander Jake Bennett (10-3, 3.66 ERA), who has made four appearances in the NCAA Tournament, owning a 3.92 ERA in 20 ⅔ innings. The Sooners haven't lost a game Bennett pitched in since May 6.

Ole Miss will start right-hander Jack Dougherty. Dougherty (3-3, 5.08 ERA) was clutch for the Rebels in relief against Arkansas, stranding the bases loaded to keep the Rebels' chances for a comeback alive in Wednesday's loss. He has thrown 12 consecutive scoreless innings since the start of May, but this will be his first start since the end of March.
