Ohio State’s Matej Vocel and Robert Cash advance to NCAA doubles final

Ohio State’s Matej Vocel and Robert Cash defeated South Carolina’s Connor Thomson and Daniel Rodrigues 6-4, 7-5, 10-8 to advance to the NCAA Tournament men's tennis doubles final in Urbana, Illinois.

Vocel and Cash will face Cleeve Harper and Richard Cimarra of Texas on Saturday.

Vocel and Cash are looking to become the second Buckeye doubles team to win an NCAA championship, joining Chase Buchanan and Blaz Rola, who won the title in 2012. Buchanan and Rola are also the only doubles team to even win the ITA All-American Championship, the ITA Fall National Championship and the NCAA Championship in the same season. Vocel and Cash can match that feat with a win on Saturday.

Vocel and Cash were on the brink of elimination in the third set, down 8-5, but rallied to win 10-8.

Vocel and Cash are 37-4.
