Ohio State Buckeyes finish third in men's golf regional, qualify for NCAA championships

The Ohio State men's golf team finished third in the Columbus regional Wednesday and qualified for the NCAA championships.

The Buckeyes shot 2 under par on Wednesday at the OSU Scarlet Course to finish at 4 over, behind Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech, who tied for first at 10 under. Arkansas finished fourth and East Tennessee State fifth. The top five advance to the NCAA championship, to be held May 27-June 1 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Ohio State's Jackson Chandler, a Dublin Jerome grad, shot a 1-under-par 70 Wednesday to finish at 2 under, in fourth place for the week with rounds of 72, 69 and 70.

OSU;s Maxwell Moldovan, JonErik Alford and Adam Wallin tied for 20th at 2 over. Patrick Schmuecking was 60th at 11 over.
