Ohio State basketball gets back in win column at home against St. Francis PA

After a difficult stretch to the season schedule-wise, the Ohio State basketball team got back in the win column at home, using a big second half to pull away from St. Francis PA to win 96-59.

Ohio State used a good shooting night and balanced scoring to make it hard to guard consistently. Six players finished in double figures with Brice Sensabaugh leading the way with 15 points. Bruce Thorton (13), Roddy Gayle Jr. (12), Zed Key (11), Sean McNeil (10), and Felix Okpara (10), also chipped in ten points or more on a day when the team poured it in at a clip of 50.7% from the floor including a blazing 56.5% from beyond the arc.

The Red Flash actually hung in there during the first half, keeping the score in arm’s reach, often just under ten points, heading into the locker room at halftime down just eight.

The second half was a different story though as OSU used a 20-8 run midway through the last 20 minutes to pull away and dominate. Ohio State also dominated on the boards which resulted in ten more shots from the field. Felix Okpara had six rebounds to lead a 47-25 advantage on the glass. The Buckeyes also took care of the basketball, turning the ball over just seven times for the game.

With the win, Ohio State improves to 6-2 overall and will now prepare to play its first Big Ten contest of the season when it hosts Rutgers next Thursday.
