Officials: Avoid water at Cox's Point Park due to bacteria levels

Water tests at the popular Cox's Point Park area of Baltimore County indicate a high level of bacteria in the Back River. The Fourth of July at Cox's Point Park is traditionally a time for fishing, cruising to Hart-Miller Island, jet skiing and cookouts. But this weekend, not even grilling can overpower the stench coming from the water. The Baltimore County Department of Health posted signs warning people to stay out of the water, and if they come in contact with it to immediately wash the area with soap. Test results released Friday indicated high levels of bacteria.
