Old Dominion has made changes at offensive coordinator and elsewhere, sources confirmed Saturday.

Kevin Reihner, who called offensive plays during a 3-9 season that ended with a 27-20 loss at South Alabama on Nov. 26, has been fired. Kevin Decker, who has spent the past four seasons as offensive coordinator at Fordham, is expected to be named to the same role at ODU.

Monarchs head coach Ricky Rahne also parted ways with defensive recruiting coordinator and cornerbacks coach Leon Wright and assistant offensive line coach Greg Jones, the sources said.

ODU, citing pending employment documentation, declined to comment on the moves.

Under Decker, Fordham finished second in the nation among Football Championship Subdivision programs with 49.5 points per game this season. Decker will bring with him to ODU offensive line coach Alex Huettel.

In 2022, the Monarchs finished 125th out of 131 Football Bowl Subdivision teams with 92.2 rushing yards per game.

The Monarchs, who lost the final six games of the season, finished last in the Sun Belt and 117th in the nation with 19.5 points per game.

The moves came after several ODU players, including star running back Blake Watson and top receiver Ali Jennings, announced their intention to enter the transfer portal. Junior offensive lineman Nick Saldiveri announced Saturday via Twitter that he is declaring for the NFL draft.
