Oakland University announced on Friday that team activities for the men's and women's basketball programs have been paused "due to positive COVID-19 tests and subsequent contact tracing."

The school also announced that longtime men's basketball coach Greg Kampe and women's basketball coach Jeff Tungate are among those who have tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to a statement released by the school, both Kampe and Tungate "are doing well and experiencing mild symptoms."

There is no word on how many other people within those programs have tested positive.

The Horizon League released its conference schedule earlier this week. Each team is schedule to play two games, on consecutive days, against the same opponent in the same location for 10 weekends.

Oakland said both programs "are taking the necessary steps and precautions to return to play safely."

Kampe, 64, has been the coach at Oakland since 1984 — only Jim Boeheim at Syracuse and Mike Krzyzewski at Duke have been at the helm longer at the same place in Division I.

Tungate, an Oakland graduate and former Kampe assistant, has been the women's basketball coach since 2013.
