New York City Mayor Eric Adams criticized Sarah Palin on Thursday for visiting multiple Manhattan restaurants while infected with Covid-19.

Palin sat for at least three al fresco meals over the last week while ignoring the city's rules and recommendations to prevent the spread of the virus. On Thursday, the mayor's office said her behavior was putting New Yorkers at risk.

“By repeatedly flouting CDC guidelines, Ms. Palin has shown a complete disregard for the health and safety of small business workers and her fellow patrons," mayoral spokesperson Jonah Allon said in a statement. "The city offers multiple resources to support isolation for those who test positive for COVID-19, and we encourage Ms. Palin to join the 98 percent of New Yorkers who report they have followed guidance on isolation and have helped New York City stop the spread.”

Palin first attracted attention on Saturday when she dined indoors at Elio's on the Upper East Side. State law requires patrons eating inside to be vaccinated, and the one-time vice presidential candidate has openly said she would get the jab "over my dead body."

On Monday, a judge presiding over Palin's libel suit against The New York Times announced that the proceedings would be delayed because Palin tested positive for the coronavirus at some point over the weekend.

On Tuesday, Palin was spotted eating outside at Campagnola, another Upper East Side Italian restaurant, according to a report in Gothamist. She then retured to Elio's for more outdoor dining Wednesday.

While Elio's ran afoul of official mandates, the Adams administration is not planning any enforcement actions. The mayoral spokesperson, however, did encourage New Yorkers who came in contact with Palin to get tested.
