NWA Powerrr goes live. NWA PPV in Tampa. Third-generation Samantha Starr will be there

The NWA’s Samantha Starr is the daughter of “The Perfect 10” Baby Doll and Sam Houston, niece of WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts and former WWF champ Rockin’ Robin, granddaughter of Grizzly Smith of The Kentuckians, Nick “Wildman” Roberts and Lorraine Johnson.

Born in Lubbock, Texas, Starr grew up a pro wrestling fan. Before pursuing pro wrestling, she played soccer, becoming a three-time captain for her high school varsity soccer team, Douglas Byrd High School in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Starr took her first bump in a ring at 14. A lifelong wrestling fan, she worked the gimmick table and other jobs at indie shows, before her mom asked her if she wanted to step in the ring. Starr accepted, and the ride has been going ever since.

Starr heeded the advice of former WWE associate and former pro wrestler John Laurinaitis, who is an advocate of college — something to “fall back on.” After graduating high school, Starr earned a degree in culinary arts. She loves to cook in the ring and out.

Starr is third generation on both sides of the family, and the NWA has been a big part of her family’s lives.

Here is my video interview with Samantha Starr.

NWA will be in Tampa for its pay-per-view “NWA Nuff Said,” delivering an outstanding roster of talent, including Starr.

“NWA Nuff Said” is Saturday, Feb. 11 from the Egypt Shrine Center.

The main event is scheduled to be NWA Champ Tyrus vs. Matt Cardona for the 10 Pounds of Gold. The pay-per-view will be followed by two days of NWA Powerrr and NWA USA television tapings at the WEDU Television studio on Sunday, Feb. 12 and Monday, Feb. 13. The Sunday taping is currently scheduled to be a matinee before the ‘Big Game’ the same day.

NWA is led by NWA Champ Tyrus — who is also an integral part of the No.1 late night talk show on television (Gutfeld on FOX News) — and NWA women’s champ Kamille — an incredible force/talent in the wrestling world. The head honcho — behind the scenes — of the NWA is Billy Corgan, also lead vocalist for the eclectic pop/rock group Smashing Pumpkins.

NWA Powerrr goes live for the first time on Tuesday, Jan. 31 via FITE TV and NWA YouTube from the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

About the NWA

Founded in 1948, the National Wrestling Alliance is one of the oldest and most prestigious professional wrestling brands in the world.

In 2017, international recording artist William Patrick Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) purchased the NWA with the intention of reinventing the brand for the modern era whilst honoring the legacy of its heyday in the 1980s.

Beginning with the critically-acclaimed Ten Pounds Of Gold docu-series, the NWA has since expanded its programming to include two weekly broadcasts (NWA Powerrr & NWA USA) which are available for free on the NWA YouTube Channel and 6 annual pay-per-views which can be purchase on the FITE TV streaming platform.
