Noodle, the pug who became TikTok famous for his bones or no-bones days videos, has died. His caretaker Jonathan Graziano announced the news in a Saturday post.

"Noodle passed yesterday. He was at home, he was in my arms – and this is incredibly sad," Graziano, who has cared for Noodle for the past seven years, said on TikTok and Instagram. "Although this is very sad ... I wanted to encourage you to celebrate him while we're navigating this sadness."

Noodle lived for 14½ years, Graziano added, "which is about as long as you can hope a dog can." The New York TikToker also thanked Noodle's fans for loving and supporting the pug.

"He made millions of people happy and did so just by being his perfect, grumpy, stinky, sweet self. What more can you hope for in the life of a dog," Graziano said in a statement sent to USA TODAY on Sunday.

Noodle rose to TikTok fame last year – as millions of viewers would flock to Graziano's account daily for the pug's answer to a very important question: "Is it a bones or no-bones-day?"

Every morning, Graziano would share what mood Noodle was in by propping him up and seeing if the dog remained standing (bones) or flopped down (no bones). If Noodle stood upright, it was a lucky day for taking risks and treating yourself. But if Noodle collapsed, then it was a no-bones day – a sign that it's best to take it easy and spend the day "being kind to yourself."

Recent videos of Noodle included the pug enjoying a taste of turkey on Thanksgiving, Noodle going for a walk on a bones day and Graziano noting that "there will be no soggy pugs" as Noodle wears an adorable yellow raincoat.

In addition to the daily dose of heartwarming entertainment, many praised Noodle and Graziano for promoting and teaching valuable lessons about self-care. On no-bones days, as explained in the description of Granzino's "Noodle and the No Bones Day" book, Noodle wasn't sick or sad – he just needed to take it easy. Noodle taught us that not every day can be a bones day, and that's OK.

Many fans who loved Noodle shared their condolences in the comments of Granzino's Saturday TikTok. Doug the Pug, a fellow famous dog, honored Noodle on Twitter.

"RIP Noodle The Pug. A great friend and a pug who spread joy to millions. May it forever be a bones day," Doug the Pug's Twitter account wrote on Saturday.
