No. 24 LSU baseball looks to sweep No. 19 Vanderbilt on the road: Live score updates

No. 24 LSU baseball will go for the sweep over No. 19 Vanderbilt on Saturday (1:00 p.m. CT, SEC Network) following impressive wins on Thursday and Friday that clinched the series victory.

Like on Thursday, LSU (36-18, 16-13) built up a 5-0 lead in the second inning, primarily thanks to two home runs from sophomore Dylan Crews. Crews has gone 6-for-8 at the plate with seven RBIs and three home runs in the series.

A wild pitch and an RBI groundout also helped extend the lead to five, as the Tigers would go on to add a run in the fourth inning and two more in the seventh after an RBI double from Cade Doughty and a run driving single from Jordan Thompson.

But arguably the most positive development of the evening for LSU came on the mound, as new Saturday starter Ty Floyd allowed just one earned run in 5⅓ innings pitched against Vanderbilt (35-17, 14-14). Although the Tigers' bullpen wasn't quite as stellar, they got the job done, allowing two earned runs but only three hits in 3⅔ innings.

A win and an Auburn loss against Kentucky on Saturday would clinch a top-four seed and bye in the first rounds for LSU in the SEC Tournament.
