It goes without saying that we all completely loved the TV adaptation of Liane Moriarty's novel Big Little Lies. So when news broke that Nicole Kidman would be starring in a series based on another of Moriarty's books, we were all unbelievably excited. Finally, after months of waiting we have more information about Nine Perfect Strangers, including an incredible cast list and a spine-chilling trailer.

Do we have a Nine Perfect Strangers trailer?
While a teaser trailer was revealed with the announcement of the show, a full trailer dropped on 11 June. In it, we see Melissa McCarthy's character driving up to a retreat, where she hopes to "heal". Instead, she mets Masha (Nicole Kidman), who has a veeery different idea of what recovery looks like. Eek.
Plus, on 17 June Nicole Kidman shared a brand new teaser on Instagram, which not only gives us a bit more info about the storyline but also looks even creepier and more sinister than the last one. We are so into this.
What's Nine Perfect Strangers about?
Based on the novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty Nine Perfect Strangers follows nine stressed out people from the city, who all head to the same health and wellness resort in search of a healthier and happier way of life. Resort director Masha (Kidman) is there to guide the tired and weather-beaten city-dwellers to full rejuvenation over the course of the 10 day retreat. But, everything is not as it seems, in fact it's far far creepier.
This is the second TV adaptation of one of Moriarty's novels to star Kidman, who played Celeste Wright in the highly successful series Big Little Lies. Nine Perfect Strangers brings several members of the Big Little Lies production team back together, including executive producers Bruna Papandrea and David E. Kelley.
Who has been cast in Nine Perfect Strangers?
The cast is pretty amazing. If Kidman wasn't enough for you the series will also star Tiffany Boone (Little Fires Everywhere), Bobby Cannavale (Homecoming), Luke Evans (Beauty and the Beast), Melissa McCarthy (Bridesmaids), Michael Shannon (The Shape of Water) and Regina Hall (Girls Trip).
Being the legend she is Nicole Kidman spoke about some of the tactics she used to fully get into the character of Masha, the bizarre Russian wellness guru she plays in the series. She says she essentially went pretty method: refusing to answer to her own name for the entire five months of filming.
"I'd only respond as Masha," she explained during an appearance on the Television Association Critics panel. " I wanted a very calm healing energy to emanate all the time, so I remember going over to people and sort of putting my hand on their heart, holding their hand, they would talk to me or use my name, 'Nicole', when I would completely ignore them... I felt like otherwise I would be doing a performance and I didn’t want to feel that way," she added. This is all sounding so eerie and great, right?
When is Nine Perfect Strangers being released?
The series will air on Hulu in the US first before making it's way onto our screens via Amazon Prime Video on August 20st. We'll be ready.
