NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.

Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check NBC Sports EDGE's player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.

Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL) and Yahoo has a $200 budget for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

Wednesday night has two games on the schedule.

Ryan O'Reilly (St. Louis) – C - $6,800 FanDuel, $6,600 DraftKings, $22 Yahoo

O’Reilly has gotten off to a solid start, scoring a goal and an assist in two games. He was great last season too with 24 goals and 54 points in 56 contests, making him a pretty good option at his current price.

Taylor Hall (Boston) – W - $5,900 FanDuel, $5,600 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo

Hall didn’t do anything of note in the Bruins’ season opener, but I like him at this price point. He’s not quite consistent enough to be a star player, but he certainly has an impact when he’s at the top of his game. He’s worth rolling the dice on tonight given that he’s relatively affordable and there aren’t a ton of options.

Cam Atkinson (Philadelphia) – W - $5,500 FanDuel, $5,700 DraftKings, $17 Yahoo

Atkinson has meshed well with his new teammates, scoring a goal and two points in his first two games. He had 15 goals and 34 points in 56 contests with Columbus last season, but he’s done better in the past, scoring 35 goals in 2016-17 and 41 goals in 2018-19. He certainly has had his ups and downs, but that’s also why you can select him at a relatively good price.

Bargain Bin: Travis Konecny (PHI) - $5,500 FanDuel/$6,100 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Chandler Stephenson (VGK) - $5,100 FanDuel/$5,900 DraftKings/$19 Yahoo, Jordan Kyrou (STL) - $4,600 FanDuel/$4,600 DraftKings/$17 Yahoo, Klim Kostin (STL) - $4,00 FanDuel/$2,500 DraftKings/$13 Yahoo

Charlie McAvoy (Boston) - $6,400 FanDuel, $5,600 DraftKings, $19 Yahoo

McAvoy didn’t record a point in the Bruins’ season opener, but he did get five shots on net. He’s a safe bet to get a ton of ice time and he is great offensively, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he contributes tonight.

Bargain Bin: Ryan Ellis (PHI) - $5,500 FanDuel/$6,100 DraftKings/$18 Yahoo, Alec Martinez (VGK) - $4,900 FanDuel/$5,100 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo, Keith Yandle (PHI) - $4,700 FanDuel/$3,300 DraftKings/$15 Yahoo, Justin Faulk (STL) - $4,500 FanDuel/$5,400 DraftKings/$20 Yahoo

Jeremy Swayman (Boston) - $8,000 FanDuel, $7,900 DraftKings, $31 Yahoo

Swayman only has 11 NHL starts under his belt, but so far he hasn’t done anything to complain about. Including leading Boston to a 3-1 victory against Dallas on Saturday, he has a career 1.45 GAA and .946 save percentage. He’s only had one career start where he’s allowed even three goals in a game.

Bargain Bin: Jordan Binnington (STL) - $7,300 FanDuel/$7,100 DraftKings/$30 Yahoo
