Newspaper mistakenly runs ad for 'pictures with Satan'
A Canadian newspaper is apologizing after mistakenly printing an ad for "pictures with Satan," rather than Santa.
An ad for the Christmas Parade in Comox Valley, British Columbia, gives the date and times for the "Gnarly Christmas Craft Fair," followed by a performance by "Captain Thunderpants" and then a photo op with none other than "Satan."
"If you don't know by now about the unfortunate typo in an advertisement that ran in the Thursday, Nov. 21 edition of the Comox Valley Record, you are one of the few," the newspaper later said.
The British Columbia newspaper generated more attention to the event than they anticipated with the ad, which was posted and shared on social media. Twitter users have dubbed it "typo of the year" and used the typo as an example of why "proofreading is important."

The newspaper apologized on their website to "clients affected, as well as to any readers offended by the mistake."
"On the bright side," the newspaper added, "everyone in the Comox Valley and beyond knows when the Courtenay Christmas parade is..."
