Mayor's Concert is Sunday in the park

FREMONT — The Mayor's Concerts in the Park series continues with Saints and Sinners at 7 p.m. Sunday in  Birchard Park on Croghan Street.

Every Sunday in June and July there will be a free concert at 7 p.m. in Birchard Park. A different act is planned each week. In case of rain, concerts will be canceled before 4 p.m. This information can be found on the City of Fremont Social Media accounts. For more information, visit fremontohio.org.

Legion plans baked steak dinner

BRADNER — The American Legion in Bradner will host a baked steak dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The menu is a baked steak, green beans, mashed potatoes with or without gravy, roll, dessert, and a drink. Cost is $10. Call 419-288-3634 to reserve a dinner or stop in and eat with at the hall.

Gibsonburg Town Hall closed for July 4th

GIBONBURG — Town Hall will be closed on Monday, in Observance of the July 4th Holiday. Trash pick up will continue as normally scheduled on Monday,.

Board of election closed Monday

OAK HARBOR — The Ottawa County Board of Elections office will be closed on Monday, in observance of Independence Day.  Normal office hours will resume on Tuesday,.

Bloodmobile set at Bellevue Hospital

BELLEVUE — An American Red Cross Bloodmobile will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 22 in Conference Rooms A and B at The Bellevue Hospital, 1400 W. Main St.

To donate, you need to weigh between 110 to 350 pounds, be at least 17 years old, be in general good health, and be feeling well the day of the blood drive.

A person can donate blood every 56 days. The American Red Cross is in specific need of O-negative blood (universal donor), but all blood donors are welcome.

Appointments to donate blood during the July 22 event are required. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code BELLEVUEHOSP.

Fourth of July Litter Cleanup set now through July 10

FREMONT — The OSS Solid Waste District wants to encourage residents to help clean up the day after with a Fourth of July Litter Cleanup Challenge. Participants will be provided with all the necessary tools for cleaning up their community safely. In return for participating in the challenge, one person will win a $50 Amazon gift card from the OSS Solid Waste District, and a second winner will receive a bundle of OSS gifts.

The challenge runs now through July 10. Participants are encouraged to clean any public space safely and responsibly. To get started, request a DIY Community Cleanup Kit by calling 19-334-7222 extension 3, or emailing thassinger@recycleoss.org.
